Insparational ideas for the photoshoot (editorial)
For the editorial photoshoot, I want to incorporate gobos for the shadows to create dark images. I want to create bold make up for my model so it stands out in the darkness of the images, also I like the idea of quite messy hair because I think my word narcotic reflects it, it does not have to be pretty and neat, but more like crazy and wild

Practice lesson
In this lesson we have learned how to create shadows on the images using gobos. Gobos are inserted into the spot light and when you take a picture the shadows will appear on the photo which is fascinating to me. I think this technique will really help me for my project. My word is narcotic and I wanted to create quite dark images so these shadows gonna give me that look by making the images darker and more mysterious
I love the dark and white filter with the shadows
I will definitely consider this look for my photo shoot

We also experimented with gels, holding them over the spotlight, this way giving definition to the certain feature of the face by 'hiding' part of the face using the colour gels

Also using the gel and covering the whole spotlight

Beauty advert analysis
In this beauty advert, you can clearly see a lot of re touching, making the skin look flawless, mainly because they are advertising foundation for the skin, so they trying to make others believe that this is the outcome of this product and every woman will look like that. They are also using a celebrity to promote this foundation, others including myself always attracted to the products that celebrities advertising because we all believe that, this is what they use to look beautiful. It is very frustrating that they are using a woman who is in her forties but yet has no wrinkles appearing on this advert, it is very unrealistic, no one had such smooth, poreless and wrinkle free skin especially at that age. I believe they need to start making these adverts a lot more realistic not necessarily having celebrity to promote this product but maybe just an average woman, and show others the real result of the product rather than a lot of Photoshop usage. Overall her make up looks amazing, it looks quite natural, her hair is pushed to the back, to bring all the attention to the face, but I think it looks good that way, otherwise its too overwhelming when there is too much make up and hair covering the face.
Pintrest board
I have created a pintrest board relating to my word - narcotic. I have selected quite dark images, very mysterious and shadowy, and slightly blury because I feel like thats what this word represents

My word - Narcotic
"Narcotic - Any of A class of substances that blunt the senses, as opium, morphine, belladonna, and alcohol, that in large quantities produceeuphoria, stupor, or coma, that when used constantly can causehabituation or addiction"
I researched images that would give me inspiration for my photoshoot relating to this word

Evaluation of the feedback
I wasn't very happy with the last project outcome, because I joined the course later, I missed quite a few lesson at the beginning I was struggling to catch up with everyone, I was struggling working with a camera as well as setting up lighting and other equipment. I was pleased with the feedback about my blog that I done a good research, however my project images were good and the two different lighting that I have used appeared similar. I have used soft box with one of my images to create a soft lighting, and the other one I done without the soft box as well as increasing exposure to give me hard lighting image. Overall I think I need to practice more in the studio to see how to work with the camera as well as the equipment properly, I feel like in the lessons everything is explained too quickly its hard to absorb the information and then when it comes to practice I don't feel ready to do test shoots.
